it has recently come to my attention that i am a little critical of people. i have found my role in life and apparently it is to point out the shortcomings of those around me. in an effort to try and better myself others i will try and post the good things that people have done that i feel deserve my hard earned thumbs up.
the first at~a~boy goes to the driver on the interstate (we will refer to them as my soul mate) who, like me, does not enjoy the current construction work going on in our hometown. You see, with it's poorly designed merge lanes, it is a pure blood boiler. not only do you have signs saying right lane ends for at lease a mile in the 60 mph zone but there is also a flashing right arrow. problem is with people who don't read the sign and do not get over until the flashing right arrow which is situated at the point where the right lane ends and you must either a. cut off traffic so you can merge right or b. cut off traffic so you can merge right. travel down the road another 1/2 mile 60 mph and you will come to the spot where traffic will merge from the right onto the interstate. mind you there are no yield signs posted so you are at the mercy of the merging drivers common sense. here lies the problem, you are at the mercy of the other drivers common sense. while i try to yield to traffic in a manner that would not cause other drivers to slow down their own pace or cause them to take evasive measures, apparently the rest of the world does not share my same compassion on the road. imagine if you will, traveling behind 3 semi's and a school bus on a rainy morning going 70 mph on a one lane interstate (did i mention concrete barriers on both sides) when a dump truck "merges" with you from a dead stop. A DEAD STOP. now, normally i would blow my horn, slam on the brakes and say a few choice words which i am sure that he would hear over the grind of brakes from the 6 cars that are behind me. you see, though i love my truck, it is old. not in the sense that it is cool or anything, just old. with body damage. and the radio doesn't work half the time. plus, i have great insurance. needless to say, i could bust a fried green tomatoes move at anytime. but since i am showing grace on this particular morning, and the fact that i have a pre~driver in the car with me, i ask for mercy on said driver. the saving grace would be my soul mate. once the road opens up and cars begin jockeying for position, as if in a nascar restart, my soul mate pulls around me and blair's their horn at the at said offending dump truck driver giving them what i can only imagine, friendly driving instructions and a salute, all with a smile of course.
so thumbs up lexus driver with road rage. thank~you for your critical attitude so that i can show that i do have a softer side.
side note: senseless dump truck driver exited less that 200 yards from where he "merged" into traffic.
